IN/SIGNIFICANT OTHERS SAG Feature Film Charlotte, NC

The Charlotte Feature Film “In/Significant Others” is seeking extras/background actors to feature in the movie.  All ages, races, ethnicities, and sizes are needed.
Tentative dates where extras are needed are:

March 21 (day, some evening)

There is no pay involved but we will compensate you with food/copy/credit.

We are also looking for a baby 1 year old or younger to play the child of two of the principal characters.

“In/Significant Others” is John Schwert’s follow up feature to “Among Brothers” (www.amongbrothers.com), which played 17 film festivals in 2005-06 and was just featured on Dateline NBC (www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18619158/). Although it’s a low-budget project, the script is strong and will be a top-tiered festival piece targeting the 2009 Spirit Awards.

Story line: Blurring the lines between drama, comedy, mystery and crime, In/Significant Others is a modern thriller that voices a unique narrative by trailing an eclectic ensemble cast of characters through their unpredictable daily lives. The film peeks inside personal, intimate moments of these unknowingly-linked character’s lives, including glimpses of drug addiction, stand-up comedy and murder. The character’s parallel storylines converge and we build to the climactic finale with a captivating and visceral series of reveals.

The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools’ Summer Enrichment Program will be producing GREASE (School Version) in July 2008.  We are beginning our search for 50’s costumes for the show including prom dresses, T-bird leather jackets, Pink Ladies jackets, RYDELL cheerleader outfits, RYDELL letter sweaters, etc., as well as 50’s teenage street clothes.

Theatre Charlotte holds auditions for

“Nouveau”

Theatre Charlotte announces open auditions for “Nouveau”.  “Nouveau” is the second presentation of Stage 501, the Theatre’s program to present new and classic plays.  The audition is at 5:00 PM, Sunday March 9, at Theatre Charlotte, 501 Queens Rd, Charlotte.

 

“Nouveau” is an evening of four, new, one-act plays, written by four members of Playwrights In Progress, the resident writing group of the Theatre.  Featured playwrights for the evening are, Jennifer Hubbard, Ann Marie Oliva, Erin Pushman, and Alexander Speer. 

Roles are available for, Six men, ages 20’s – 50’s; Two young men, 17 – 19; Four women, ages 19 – 70’s; One girl, age 13

 

The show runs:

April 10-13, 2008

Thur., Fri., & Sat., 8:00 PM; Sun. 2:30 PM

 

Tickets are $15 regular / $10 Students

Collaborative Arts is pleased to present Maltby and Shire’s Closer Than Ever, playing February 28 - March 15 at the Duke Power Theatre in Spirit Square. Performances take place Thursday through Saturday at 8pm, with one 2:30pm matinee on Sunday, March 9, and one 8pm show on Wednesday, March 12. Tickets are $20.

CPCC Theatre will hold auditions The Miracle Worker on Monday, March 3rd & Tuesday, March 4th  from 7:00pm to 9:00pm in Pease Auditorium on the CPCC Central Campus. 

 

The production calls for 5 men, 4 women, 1 boy and 7 girls.  All roles are open. Roles range in age from 6 to 60+. The play calls for a diverse ethnic cast.

CPCC Theatre is proud to present this stirring dramatization of the real life story of Helen Keller. The Miracle Worker is one of the most successful and warmly admired plays of the modern stage. Blind and mute, nobody knows what Helen’s fate might have been had she not come under the tutelage of Annie Sullivan, an Irish girl who had been born blind. Little Helen, trapped in her secret world, is bitter, violent, spoiled and almost animal like. Only Annie realizes that there is a mind waiting to be rescued from that dark, tortured silence. Annie’s success with Helen comes only after some of the most turbulent, violent, and emotion packed scenes ever presented on the stage. Join CPCC Theatre for an evening the NY Daily Mirror called – “Magnificent theatre.”

The auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. You do not have to be a current CPCC student to participate. College credit is available to those who qualify.
