HOW TO AUDITION WORKSHOP

1-3 pm, Saturday, June 30

Actors Theatre of Charlotte

650 E. Stonewall Street

The Metrolina Theatre Association will host a FREE How To Audition Workshop at Actors Theatre on Saturday, June 30 from 1-3 pm.  The workshop is coordinated by Scott Pacitti of Actor’s Crib.

The How To Audition Workshop will incorporate input from many artistic directors and theater professionals from MTA-member and other interested theatre organizations. The workshop will provide useful audition information for experienced, newer, part-time, and potential actors with no experience.  It will also provide insights into the Unified Audition process.

Unified auditions are a time-honored theater custom, says director and actor Anne Lambert, and most actors appreciate the ‘one-stop-shopping aspect of being seen by several companies at once. Unified Auditions are also social occasions networking, catching up with old friends, meeting new colleagues.  They are different, however, from a regular theatre company organization audition. The tips and pointers provided during the How to Audition workshop are designed to be helpful for actors participating in a unified audition for the first time.

The workshop is recommended for all actors, regardless of experience level. Experienced actors are especially encouraged to attend so that they can share their knowledge with fellow actors. It is also an opportunity to sign up for the upcoming unified auditions. The workshop will be fun for anybody who wants to brush up on their audition skills, practice their monologues in front of others, and play some acting technique games. Actors who can’t make the workshop and don’t have a lot of experience auditioning are encouraged to seek advice from an acting teacher or go on-line to research tips for unified auditions prior to registering and attending.
