About the Show:
This music-filled comedy follows Rosalind, Shakespeare’s most
charming heroine, as she escapes to the Forest of Arden. Disguised as
a boy and joined by her cousin and their reluctant fool, Rosalind
encounters local rustics, her banished father, and her true love
Orlando on her journey through Arden. A witty and wise comedy about
the sexes, AS YOU LIKE IT highlights the transformative power of love.

“All the world’s a stage” in this modern update set in the South in
the 1950’s and performed in the round at The Green. The rigid order
of city life is contrasted with the freedom and simplicity of a life
in the country. The play’s songs have been set to original country
music composed by Stan Peal.

AS YOU LIKE IT is co-directed by Joe Copley and Elise Wilkinson and
features Chaz Pofahl, Peter Smeal, Beth Yost, Greta Marie Zandstra,
and 14 other Charlotte actors and musicians.

There is no admission charge, but donations will be accepted.  No
reservations are necessary. Patrons are encouraged to bring blankets
or lawn chairs and may bring food and beverages, if desired. Wine,
beer and food will also be available for purchase at the evening
performances from local restaurants located at The Green.
