We normally rent shop space at Davidson College but the shop is housed in a building that is undergoing renovation so we must find temporary space for the summer.

Location is important - it needs to be close enough for our volunteer set builders/painters. I have been focusing on Mooresville south to Harris Blvd.

We need the warehouse space to build and paint sets. Electricity is critical. Water to clean up paint brushes is also pretty critical. If there was a faucet outside that would work.

We need between 1,800 and 2,400 square feet of space with either a double door or a roll up door to load the sets out.

Some pieces may be as tall as 16 feet therefore high ceilings are pretty critical. At absolute minimum they should be 13 feet high — ideally 17 or 18 feet would be better.

As to what we have budgeted for rent, we can do between $600 and $800/month which isn’t much, but perhaps the company would be willing to write off the balance as a gift in kind sponsorship. If so, I would need logo etc  for our printed materials very quickly.

We need the space beginning May 1 and ending about July 25 or so. We need to act quickly in order to have the space ready to build in May. Before we can begin even building the Hello Dolly set, we will need to build the workspaces for the tools.

Thanks so much, please call or email if you have a lead or space!
